the l-word has always been a term people are afraid to define, perhaps in fear that an important aspect may be left out in all its complexity. i personally think it's a feeling too overwhelming to tangibly describe within the limits of language.
i have had the privilege of being l-word by a few of the best people in the world. whether it be in the past or present, i am honored to have shared something so precious. there are moments in life that change you... many times by those same best people.
i appreciate you pushing me to succeed when i wanted to give up. i will never forget how proud you were of my strength to endure. you encouraged me to be more than i knew i could be. i can't imagine my life complete without the safety of your hand holding mine. the knowledge that you worry about me more than yourself is astounding. i remember you trying to shield me from hurt; i remember you letting me go to see me happy.
i love you.
