one day...

today during lunch, we shared a bottle of malbec complete with countless wine toasts at every sip, many involving simple expressions of joy while others were deep philosophical hopes. one was dedicated to one day whether in the past, now, or in the future that we may be loved by someone who truly cherishes you for who you are, and that you may love that person just the same.

as i think about this, any relationship in which we have requited love is rather amazing. and genuinely fortunate.
